Year 13: MEST1 resit mock

An important message for Year 13 students resitting their MEST1 exam on Friday 22 May:

Your MEST1 mock exam is on Wednesday 29 April at 3.15pm in the Lecture Theatre. Attendance is compulsory.

There will be one revision session prior to this mock exam but you NEED to be revising all the key information from Year 12 in the meantime. Specifically:

  • Ill Manors
  • A Field In England
  • Your own film case study

You'll find a useful index of Year 12 blogposts on the case study texts here. This has all the tasks we have set this year's Year 12 students and should help remind you of the work you did last year. You'll obviously need to revise from your own blog too.

Remember you can use everything you've learned in Year 13 in the MEST1 exam - particularly in Section A the added theory you've learned should give you a huge advantage over most Year 12 students sitting the exam alongside you.

Media Magazine

Media Magazine is a brilliant resource when revising for Media exams with articles on all the major media issues and debates. Our Media Magazine archive is here - we've just added MM52 (out this week) which has articles on social media and surveillance, Russell Brand, the Hunger Games trilogy and how to carry out close textual analysis (which is exactly the skill you need for MEST1 Section A).

Good luck!
